The season of 2009/10 finished with Chippenham being promoted to Division 1A of the Cambs Sunday Football League. This is an achievement for the latest village football club that was originally formed in the autumn of 1993.
A fine afternoon in May and a Victorian Tea Party in the Chippenham Vicarage garden was a popular destination for many members and friends a very successful and enjoyable event.
Chippenham residents, why not try your hand at the sport of Bowls? 2010 promises to be an interesting year with full programmes in all three leagues that the Club enters i.e. Ely & District Men’s, Ladies and the ever popular Afternoon League. So, come along and have a go at Lawn Green Bowling and sample one of the best prepared playing surfaces in the County.
An update on the tennis teams we have entered in the Norfolk and Suffolk League.
A playgroup and coffee morning on Mondays during term-time from 10-11.30 in Freckenham Village Hall. Activities include toys, craft, music, singing, and outdoor play.
The Club are in 3rd position in Division 2A, which is respectable. Promotion was within our grasp when playing Wicken on the 2nd May but it was not to be.
The Kwik Cricket season has started again in Chippenham. This year it is on Friday night’s at the cricket ground and will run every Friday until the summer holidays start.
